We are pleased to announce that the first Seminar Series, Minorities in Times of Scarcity and Conflict, featured in the Routledge Advances in Minority Studies Series, has been published. Edited by Antonio Montañés Jiménez, Camila Ferreira Marinelli, and Stavroula Pipyrou, this volume places scarcity as a defining aspect of minorities’ collective experience and as a tool to understand ongoing societal frictions, global environmental challenges, and strategies for survival.

Departing from conventional economic or demographic approaches, the book explores how disadvantaged social groups navigate scarcity—not only in terms of material resources but also emotion, memory, and affect. It examines how scarcity is endured, interpreted, accepted, or challenged, offering new insights into social mobility and the reproduction of inequalities.
